Brandon Mitchell

Mixed Media

“My style is influenced mainly by Film Noir of 1930s-40s, art deco architecture, and postimpressionism. I’m strongly drawn to any idea that conveys a strong sense of an expression, that hints at a underlying story within the context of the piece. I also draw a lot from my traveling experiences in Alaska, the mid-west, England, and Ireland. My favorite artists are Hopper, Gorey, Dix, Lempicka and Gogh. Materials/tools I’m primarily focused on acrylic painting and pen and ink drawings, but I equally enjoy iron/metal casting when I have access to a foundry. I also do carpentry, paper cutting, and ceramics, and set design.”
