Instructor Proposals
GCCA instructors include both working artists and professional educators. We are looking for artists doing interesting work who are also excellent teachers. Our instructors possess a willingness to communicate technique and process, strong technical skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to teach classes that are open to a range of skill levels, from intermediate to advanced.
GCCA offers 4 sessions per year:
Winter Session: January 13 - March 15, 2025
Spring Session: March 24 – May 24, 2025
Summer Session: June 2 – August 9, 2025
Fall Session: August 25 – December 19, 2025
Interested in teaching an art class at GCCA?
AInstructors are contract employees paid based on an hourly rate for the time they spend in the classroom. GCCA offers four sessions per year (class sessions listed below). Within each session, we offer multiple class formats. Our shortest workshops require just a one-day commitment, and our longest classes run for five weeks.
To be considered for a teaching position at GCCA, submit a proposal through the web form below (proposal deadlines for each session are listed below). The proposal form lets us learn more about you and your practice and asks for a simple course proposal. Successful course proposals complement but don’t compete with what’s already on our schedule. We don’t always have room to bring on new instructors, but we always enjoy meeting new artists, and at the very least, we’ll keep your proposal on file. Once submitted, we will review your proposal and contact you if we need more information or would like to discuss your proposal further. Contact Program Director, Javy Pagan at javy@artcentergreenville.org if you have any questions about the instructor proposal process or GCCA instructors.
