Annual Showcase

The GCCA Annual Showcase: Member Art Exhibition showcases the exceptional talent and creative excellence of our members. All submitted artworks will be displayed in GCCA’s Main Gallery, providing artists with an equal opportunity to present their work to a broader audience. However, this year’s exhibition will feature prizes for Best in Show, First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and People's Choice.

"Perspective: Art From All Angles"

The Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) invites member artists to participate in the Annual Showcase: Member Art Exhibition. This year’s theme, "Perspective: Art From All Angles", encourages artists to explore different viewpoints—both literal and metaphorical—through unique compositions, storytelling, or social perspectives. The exhibition seeks to highlight how individual identities contribute to and shape a larger communal narrative. Each piece serves as a personal story that, when combined with others, reflects the vast, interconnected fabric of our community.

Creative Guideline:

  • Works should reflect ties to representational art. Portraiture & Self-Representation: Works that delve into personal history, heritage, or inner life. Cultural & Historical Narratives: Art that connects personal identity to broader cultural or social contexts, illustrating the evolution of community identity over time.

  • Artists may incorporate elements that reflect their cultural background, personal struggles, or triumphs.

  • The exhibition may include artist statements or interactive elements to provide deeper insight into the stories behind the artwork.

Eligibility

  • Open to all current GCCA members.

  • Artists must be 18 years or older to participate.

  • Each member may submit one original artwork for consideration.

  • Artwork must be original, created by the submitting artist, and must not have been previously shown at GCCA.

  • Artwork dimensions must not exceed 36 inches in any direction (including frame) and must weigh no more than 35 lbs.

  • All artwork must be finished and securely prepared for installation (no wet paintings). Three-dimensional works must be stable on a gallery pedestal or properly mounted for display. Pedestals are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • No late, mail-in, or email submissions will be accepted; all entries must be submitted via the designated online portal.

  • GCCA reserves the right to decline artwork that does not meet submission requirements.

All media are welcome, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, and mixed media. For questions about eligibility, contact Ben Tarcson, Gallery Director, at ben@artcentergreenville.org.

Submission Guidelines

  • Each artist may submit one artwork display and for consideration for prizes.

  • All works must be original and created within the last year.

  • Works must be gallery-ready (framed, wired, or otherwise prepared for installation).

  • Submission image(s) must be in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format.

  • Submission must include:

    • Artist statement (maximum 250 words)

    • Short biography

  • Sale of Artwork: A 30% commission will be taken for all work sold. Work not for sale should be clearly listed on your form as “NFS”.

  • Exhibition Dates: August 1, 2025 - September 24, 2025

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, July 11, 2025

  • Artwork Drop-off:

    • Friday, July 25, 10 AM - 5 PM

    • Saturday, July 26, 11 AM - 3 PM

  • Opening Reception: Friday, August 1, 6 - 9 PM

  • Artwork Pick-up:

    • Thursday, September 25, 10 AM - 5 PM

    • Friday, September 26, 10 AM - 5 PM

All exhibiting artists will be eligible for cash prizes and recognition awards, including Best in Show, First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and People's Choice.

Best in Show – $200 

First Place – $125

Second Place – $75

Third Place – $50

Peoples Choice Award – $50

How to Submit

Artists must submit their work through the designated online portal. No email or mail-in submissions will be accepted.
