Greenville Center for Creative Arts is looking for friendly and outgoing individuals who have the passion to work and learn in Greenville’s community-focused visual arts center.
Available Positions
Join our community arts non-profit as a Development and Events, Summer, or Annual Administrative Intern! Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll collaborate with our Development, Education, and Visitor Experience teams to learn the ropes of running an arts organization. Summer roles run May –August; Annual roles span September - April. One semester Internships are also available for annual positions. Apply now to launch your arts career!

Overview & Purpose
With direct oversight from the Development Team, the Development & Events Intern will be learning the day-to-day workings of a community arts non-profit during the months of September 2026 - April 2027. This is an opportunity to get insight and experience working on the creative and administrative sides of Development and Events. Delve deeper into how GCCA organizes, manages, and implements events, fundraising and community relationships. Interns are expected to work in cooperation with GCCA staff, donors, Founders, vendors and visitors . This is an unpaid internship with the potential to work hybrid.
Schedule
September 2026 – April 2027
Federal Holidays Observed
Monday – Friday Open Hours, Some Evening and Weekend Event Hours, Exact schedule to be decided based on Interns availability
Up to 20 hrs per week
Primary Responsibilities
Work with Development Team on administrative needs
Work with Development Team in set up, coordination and management of GCCA run events
Work with Digital Media & Design Specialist on social media marketing needs
Work with Development Team on graphic design needs following brand guidelines
End of Internship presentation during last Staff Meeting
Professional Qualities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly preferred
Proficient or some experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or other graphic design software, preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Interest in an art or non-profit related career
Some college credit helpful but not required
Minimum of high school graduate or GED education level
Ability to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere
Ability to promote teamwork and a positive environment with staff
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
A background check will be required before acceptance

Delve deeper into how GCCA organizes, manages, and implements events, classes and artist opportunities during one of the busiest times of the year.
Summer Admin Interns are expected to work in cooperation with Summer Art Camp Instructors, Summer Art Camp Assistants, and GCCA staff.This is an unpaid internship intended for a high school or college student.

May 2026– August 2026

Primary Responsibilities
Work with GCCA Education Director and Summer Art Camp instructors for Summer Camp needs on the administrative side
Work with GCCA Operations Director in scheduling volunteer shifts and opportunities
Work with GCCA Education & Operations Coordinator in updating Gift Shop inventory as new round of artists begin consignment
Model positive behavior and open communication with Summer Camp students
Work with GCCA Staff in the planning, organizing, and implementation of GCCA Membership Show Opening in August
Work with Operations Director on various building needs and issues
Maintain and organize classroom supplies, making sure that supplies are clean and put away in the supply closet after daily camp and classes
Organize and install Summer Art Camp Exhibition in August with Summer Art Camp Instructors
Contribute to and maintain GCCA’s blog
Learn contractual needs, vendor relations, and some accounting in a non-profit setting
Professional Qualities
Interest in an art related or non-profit career after internship
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, preferred but not required
Previous experience working with children is helpful but not required
Some college credit or work experience helpful but not required
Minimum Junior in High School
Must have reliable transportation to and from GCCA
CPR and First Aid Certification a plus
Ability to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere
Ability to promote teamwork and a positive environment
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to create, monitor, and enforce standards of behavior
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Administrative Interns are expected to work in cooperation with GCCA staff, Board Members, Students, Instructors and Volunteers. This is an unpaid internship intended for a high school or college student.

Help with planning and set up of Art School Pop up Exhibition
Shadow all GCCA Staff to learn their daily tasks
