ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015 by a dedicated group of artists, arts advocates, and community leaders. Located in the historic Brandon Mill in the Village of West Greenville, GCCA’s mission is to enrich the cultural fabric of the community through visual arts promotion, education, and inspiration. As the only art center of its kind in the Greenville, SC area, GCCA specializes in hands-on visual arts instruction, offering art classes for all ages and skill levels, private artist studios, free high-profile public exhibitions, and innovative outreach programs for underserved children and young emerging artists. Its vision is to build an engine for creativity and community building that crosses boundaries and overcomes barriers.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Education & Operations Coordinator (EOC) plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of The Carrie Burns Brown Art School and serving as a welcoming and organized front-line representative of the organization. This position is responsible for managing class registration systems, communicating with instructors and students, maintaining classroom readiness, overseeing scheduling, and assisting with overall program administration.
The EOC supports the organization as the front desk staff representative, welcoming visitors, responding to phone inquiries and directing them where necessary, and providing information or assistance to visitors and inquiries when needed. They are responsible for ensuring GCCA is opened on time, the reception area is organized, and visitors in person and via phone receive excellent customer service. The EOC is also responsible for The Shop @GCCA, including proposal process, merchandising, and sales.

THE CARRIE BURNS BROWN ART SCHOOL
Registration & Administration
Build and manage course registration within the registration platform, ensuring accurate class information, capacity limits, and schedules.
Track enrollment trends and maintain accurate student records.
Coordinate and execute registration timelines and communications.
Assist with reporting and analysis of program metrics.
Instructor & Student Support
Serve as primary point of contact for instructor and student communications related to scheduling, registration, materials, and general inquiries.
Onboard new instructors with organizational policies and registration systems.
Facilitate pre-class and post-class evaluations and feedback collection.
Operational Support
Maintain classroom readiness including supply monitoring, room setup, and cleanliness.
Coordinate room schedules and manage potential conflicts or space usage needs.
Perform daily business opening and closing procedures.
Answer phones, manage emails, and provide front-line assistance to visitors.
Support general administrative tasks as assigned by the Education and Community Engagement Director.
Program Coordination
Assist with the execution of workshops, camps, and special educational programs.
Support program logistics, materials prep, rosters, and instructor communication.
Collaborate with marketing and communications team to promote classes and events.
ORGANIZATIONAL OPERATIONS
Daily opening and closing duties
Front Desk responsibilities including responding to and triaging phone inquiries, and greeting visitors
Provide warm welcome to GCCA for all, being responsive to visitor needs
Oversight of The Shop @GCCA
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in arts administration, education, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in an administrative or customer-facing role; experience in arts education is a plus.
Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in registration platforms and general office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.
Flexible and adaptable with a commitment to excellent service and community engagement.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires availability during regular business hours (9AM-5PM), with occasional evenings or weekends depending on program schedules.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position with some evening and weekend work required. GCCA supports flexible work-from-home hybrid options. The salary range for this role is $35,000-$40,000 annually. Employees of GCCA receive 100% reimbursement for individual (employee-only) medical, dental, and vision coverage premiums. GCCA provides short-term and long-term disability insurance at no charge for all exempt employees. Additionally, GCCA offers a 401K plan for all exempt employees, although GCCA does not contribute to the plan. Other benefits include competitive PTO and annual holiday leave.
