Artifacts

Our newest solo exhibition, Artifacts, features local artist Adam Du Shole. Du Shole tells us that there is a human impulse to preserve stories in material form, allowing relics imbued with meaning to outlive their original context. In Artifacts, Du Shole uses both painting and sculpture to create an archive of brightly colored forms that explore transformations of folk traditions and personal memory. His clean visual language embraces color and he lightheartedly decorates myths to feel both ancient and futuristic. The exhibition reveals how myth can reemerge not only through mystery, but also through our own personal perspectives.
