About April:

Dr. April Bandy-Taylor (she/her) is a poet, playwright, and professor of psychology at Warren Wilson College. She holds a master’s degree in counseling, a master’s degree in exercise science, and a PhD in psychology with a health psych concentration.

Her research is rooted in social justice issues, including food insecurity and eating disorders in the LGBTGQ+ population. She is a firm believer in the healing power of poetry and enjoys spreading that message to others while sharing space, stories, and community. In her spare time, you will likely find her spending time with her wife and two rescue pups, supporting local theatre, and trying out new vegan recipes.

Our opening reader is Amy Randall.
