Walking the Lines

24 x 28 ″Oil on canvasDad was not fond of hunting, but on this day he was walking the lines of the 88 acre family farm. The 22 caliber rifle was useful against copperhead snakes, predatory foxes in the hen house, and black snakes raiding the bluebird houses. Also for safety in this remote location and, in Dad’s case, for pruning the giant locust trees shading our house. The dog’s name is “Ticket.”
